UN court rules Myanmar genocide case can go ahead

The UN’s highest court ruled on Friday that a landmark case filed by Gambia, accusing Myanmar of genocide of minority Rohingya Muslims, can proceed.

International Court of Justice president Joan Donoghue said the tribunal “finds that it has jurisdiction… to entertain the application filed by the Republic of the Gambia.”
