Photos from Ukraine as Russia’s deadly invasion is met with some resistance

With Russia continuing its invasion of Ukraine, the effects of war are being captured in countless images.

Russian missiles pounded Ukraine’s capital Kyiv on Friday, while families hid in shelters and authorities told residents to prepare petrol bombs to defend the city.

These photos show that while many Ukrainians are sheltering or putting up a fight, there has already been immense damage in some cities and towns.
