Three-year-old boy hit by car in Oran Park

A three-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital after being hit by a car in Sydney’s south-west.
The boy was struck by a Holden Captiva on Steward Drive in Oran Park about 5.10pm.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital in a serious condition.
The driver, a 29-year-old woman, was not injured and will be taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
Paramedics said it was a confronting scene.
“Going to a road accident where a child is involved is always difficult and can be extremely upsetting for the first responders on scene,” Phil Sweet, duty operations manager for NSW Ambulance, said.
“In the end, we’re all human and a lot of us have children as well – that’s why we do our training, so we can operate well as a team, we know what we have to do to help those who need us.
As road users we all need to take care while out and about – your life and the life of others can change in a split second.”
Anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam vision is urged to come forward to police. Source: 9 news
