Woman raped by many after tying husband in Tangail forest

Bangladesh desk:  A 23-year old woman was raped by a group of youths in a Gazari Forest under Shakhipur upazila in Tangail after tying up her husband at the night following Thursday.

The police, referring to the case filed by the victim’s husband, said that the woman and her husband were returning home after visiting Chander Hat area of the upazila on Thursday evening.

A total of seven people obstructed the victim’s way when they reached Kachua Haji Chourasta, the case description said and added that the youths took them to a nearby Gazari forest where they raped the woman one after another after tying up her husband.

Sakhipur police station officer-in-charge  Rezaul Karim said that they arrested six youths after receiving the case filed by the victim’s husband with his police station.

The arrestees are – Bulbul Ahmed, 24, Labu Mia, 26, Mohammad Babul, 30, Asif Hosen, 23, Shafiq Ahmed, 25 and Mozzamel Haq, 30, all are the residents of Dhakkhinpara area of Kachua village of the upazila.

The victim is now undergoing treatment at the One-stop Crisis Centre of Tangail General Hospital, the OC said.

He said that continued their drive to nab the remaining suspects.
