Shut all unregistered pvt hospitals, clinics: Health Minister

Bangladesh Health Minister Dr Samanta Lal Sen has ordered to shut unregistered private hospitals and clinics across the country.

“If the authorities do not close the clinics-hospitals, the ministry will take strict action.”

The minister came up with the directive on Tuesday at the secretariat following the death of five-year-old Ayaan at United Medical College Hospital in the capital’s Badda area, which has no license.

Earlier this morning, Ayaan’s family members met the minister with their four-point demand, including fair trial.

Samanta Lal said, “I myself am a victim of unlicensed hospitals. So I will never give up on this issue. I have already said that I will stand against corruption, and that there will be no concessions regarding unauthorised hospitals.”
