S Asia’s first ever foreign pilot training launched in Bangladesh

Bangladesh desk: National flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines has started commercial training of foreign pilots for the first time in South Asia’s aviation history.
The training programme started on Friday by providing training to one pilot of Mongolian Airlines on Dhaka-Sylhet-London route flight. Twelve pilots of Mongolian Airlines will receive training on Boeing 787 Dreamliner of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
Shafiul Azim, managing director and CEO of Biman Bangladesh Airlines, inaugurated the training programme at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on Friday morning.
“Three pilots will receive the line training in the first batch. Approval has already been taken from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh for this training,” said a press release issued by Biman Bangladesh Airlines.
Biman becomes the first airline among the SAARC countries to train foreign pilots through Dreamliner flight.
Biman CEO said Biman Bangladesh Airlines has gained the confidence of foreign airlines due to its globally commendable flight safety standards.
The training would be expanded in the future, he added.
