Probe body submits report to home minister over EX army officer Sinha murder

Administrative inquiry committee chairman Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, also Chattogram additional divisional commissioner, submits probe report on the killing of retired army major Sinha Md Rashed Khan in police firing to home minister Asaduzzaman Khan at the ministry in Dhaka on Monday. 

 

The four-member administrative inquiry committee formed to probe the killing of retired army major Sinha Md Rashed Khan in police firing submitted its report on Monday.

 

Committee chairman Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, also Chattogram additional divisional commissioner, submitted the report to home minister Asaduzzaman Khan at the ministry in the afternoon.

Three other members of the committee were present on the occasion.

Committee chairman Mizanur earlier told reporters that the report was divided into two parts, with the 80-page main part containing recommendations and findings along with 21-page photo album.

In the 596-page second part, Mizanur said they attached all related documents, testimonies and letters related to the inquiry.

Home minister Asaduzzaman, however, declined to reveal any finding of the report saying that they would inform it to the court.

Sinha, 36, who took early retirement from the Bangladesh Army in November 2018, was shot dead at a police checkpoint on Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive at Shamlapur under Teknaf upazila in Cox’s Bazar on July 31.
