Police deployed at Dhaka University
Bangladesh desk: A large number of police have been deployed to control the situation after repeated clashes and chases between the Chhatra League and general students at Dhaka University (DU).
On Monday (July 15) around 7pm, police were deployed to Doel Chattar. Besides, an armored police vehicle has been deployed next to Dr. Muhammad Shahidullah Hall.
In this regard, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Joint Commissioner (Operations) Biplab Kumar Sarkar, who was present at DU campus, said that the police have been deployed at DU area after the permission of the university administration. Police will take legal action to avoid chaos.
Meanwhile, the protesting students are standing in front of Dr. Muhammad Shahidullah Hall, 100 yards away from the police.
It was reported that about 220 students have been injured so far in the clashes between the two sides at Dhaka University. They have been sent to Dhaka Medical College.
