New Cabinet likely to form by Jan 15: Nasrul Hamid

 
The ruling Awami League (AL) and its alliance partners are likely to form the new Cabinet by 15 January, after a landslide victory in the 12th general election on Sunday.
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid predicted the time frame while talking to the reporters at the Secretariat on Monday.
Responding a question about the timeframe for forming the new Cabinet, Nasrul Hamid said, “I believe the new cabinet will be completed by  January 15.”

The unofficial results showed the Awami League won 223 seats, Jatiya Party secured 11 seats while the independents got 61, paving the way for the AL to form the government for the fourth consecutive term..

The Awami League, some of its like-minded parties, the opposition in parliament Jatiya Party, and a record number of independent candidates contested the elections while BNP and its allies boycotted the polls.
