Metro rail: Students demand half fare

Bangladesh desk: A group of students under the banner of ‘General Students’ formed a human chain in front of the metro station at Farmgate of the capital on Saturday demanding half fare for metro rail services.
The students said that they do not get any discount in the metro rail service which shows discrimination against students.
They claimed that the exorbitant fares fixed by the metro rail authorities have made a disadvantage for the students.
Earlier in December 2023, students of Dhaka University demanded half fare following the inauguration of the DU metro station.
Meanwhile, in 2021, a large student started movement in country for the half pass.
Following the incident, the half pass for the students in the bus was issued with some conditions in all the cities.
