Metro rail service resumes after 1hr suspension

Bangladesh desk: Metro rail services from Uttara to Motijheel resumed after being halted for around one hour due to a technical glitch.
An official of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd Nazmul Islam Bhuiyan said that the trains started running from 3:40pm. The services were suspended at around 2:20pm on Saturday.
He said that the operations were suspended after a door of a train became non-functional, he said.

“The services were suspended due to technical glitch,” said Nasir Uddin Ahmed, director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Ltd.

Considering the pressure of passengers, Metro rail authorities cut the interval between arrivals of trains at every station by 2 minutes to 8 minutes from Saturday.

From now, a total of 178 trains will run each day instead of the existing 152.
