Govt declares April 20 as a holiday

Bangladesh desk: The government on Monday declared April 20 as a holiday.
The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting presided over by prime minister Sheikh Hasina at parliament.
Cabinet secretary Md Mahbub Hossain at a briefing at the secretariat said that the decision had been taken to ease the travel of holidaymakers.
April 19 is a public holiday as it will observe as holy Lailatul Qadr or Shab-e-Qadr.
Mahbub Hossain said that if the month of Ramadan ended with 30 days, Eid holiday would extend by one more day to overall five days.
Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated in Bangladesh either on 22 April or 23 April upon the sighting of moon.
