Former DU student found dead in city

Bangladesh desk: Police have recovered the hanging body of Masud Al Mahadi (Apu), a former student of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism (MCJ) of Dhaka University, from a house in Chankharpul area of the capital.
However, the cause of death has not been confirmed yet.
Jasim Uddin Mollah, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Police of Lalbagh Zone, confirmed the matter that his body was recovered around 2pm on Monday.
The deceased was a student of Masterda Surja Sen Hall of Dhaka University for the 2011-12 academic session. He ranked first class first in the undergraduate level and First class second in the post graduate results category. He also passed the latest BCS Preliminary.
According to some resident in the building where Apu’s body got found, two more people lived in the room with Apu. They went to the office at nine in the morning. They said that the door did not open from inside even after many calls. Police later came to the spot and recovered his body hanging.
Lalbagh Zone DC Jasim Uddin Mollah said, “We came to the spot after getting the news. Here we rescue the hanging body. We can’t say whether it is murder or suicide at this moment. We are taking the matter seriously.”
Prof Golam Rabbani, Proctor of Dhaka University said, “I have informed about the matter from a senior police officer. He was a former student of the Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of the University and a resident of Masterda Surja Sen Hall. We have told police to take legal action.”
