Dhaka court rejects Pori Moni’s bail plea

Bangladesh desk: A Dhaka metropolitan magistrate court on Wednesday rejected the bail plea of film actress Shamsunnahar Smrity, known by her stage name Pori Moni.

Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Debbobroto Biswas passed the order.

The actress was produced before the court by the Criminal Investigation Department in a case filed under the Narcotics Control Act.

The CID also requested the court to allow them a five-day remand to interrogate the actress in their custody. The court will give its decision regarding the remand plea after holding a hearing.

Pori Moni was arrested on August 4 from her Banani residence with liquor bottles and a case under the Narcotic Control Act was filed with Banani police station.
