Delowar raped Noakhali woman twice before, once at gunpoint

It has now been revealed that Md Delowar Hossain, head of so called Delowar Bahini, raped the Noakhali woman twice before the video of her gang-rape was released.
National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Director (Complaints & Inquiry) Al-Mahmud Faizul Kabir, who is also head of a probe body for the incident, revealed this after talking to the rape survivor on Tuesday.
The NHRC director said the woman said Delowar would make indecent sexual advances.
A year ago, Delowar raped her in her own house. The NHRC director said Delowar threatened to gang rape and murder her at gunpoint when she screamed.
After a few moths, Delowar called her out to a boat through his associate Kalam. There, both Delowar and Kalam planned to rape her.
However, when she pleaded with Delowar, he gave some money to Kalam to leave the scene. Then Delowar raped her for the second time.
Al-Mahmud Faizul Kabir said: “I have talked to NHRC Acting Chairman Md Najrul Islam in this regard. Upon his instruction, I advised the woman to file a separate case against Delowar and Kalam. The commission’s panel lawyers will run the case.”
Noakhali Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Alamgir Hossain said: “We will take legal steps after investigating the new allegations as well as the previous ones.”
Six people have so far been arrested in the two cases filed in connection with the rape of this housewife in Noakhali, stripping her naked and making a video of the incident.
The rape survivor filed cases against nine persons with Begumganj Model police station on Sunday night.
The incident occurred in Noakhali’s Begumganj upazila, Joykrishnapur village of Eklaspur union, on September 2.
The video footage of five men raping the woman went viral on social media platforms on Sunday and raised concerns among netizens.
They then raped the 35 year old woman, stripping her naked and filming the incident on their mobile.
At one point, locals gathered around the house hearing the woman’s cries for help. The rapists then threatened to kill her if she spoke about the incident, and left.
The perpetrators, however, contacted her over the phone and threatened to release the recorded video of the incident on social media if she did not go back to her house and agree to their demands.
At one point on Sunday afternoon, the recorded video was released on social media.
