COVID-19 infections cross 5 lakh, 38 more die in Bangladesh

Bangladesh Desk: The number of novel coronavirus infected people in Bangladesh crossed the 5 lakh mark as the country recorded 1,153 more new infections in the past 24 hours on Sunday.
Bangladesh logged an additional 38 deaths from COVID-19 in the timeline, counting the death toll to 7,280 and infections to 500,713.
Among the deceased, 30 were male and eight female patients.
A Directorate General of Health Services release came up with the latest COVID-19 data.
Some 13,316 specimens were tested in the timeline at 160 labs across the country.
Bangladesh had tested a total of 30,75,680 specimens as of December
20.
A total of 1,926 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 437,527.
Bangladesh on March 8 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18.
