Covid-19 claims 25 more lives, infects 818 in Bangladesh

Bangladesh desk: Covid -19 claimed the lives of 25 more people and infected 818 others in Bangladesh in 24 hours ending Saturday morning.
With the latest statistics, the total death toll hits 27,393 and infections to 15,40,317 since the country had recorded the first Covid infection on March 8, 2020, and death from the viral disease on March 18, 2020.
The daily test positivity rate is 4.59 per cent.
Among the deceased, 14 are male and 11 are female patients.
The Directorate General of Health Services came up with the latest statistics on its daily Covid press release.
A total of 17,878 samples have been tested during the reporting period across the country at 815 laboratories while Bangladesh had tested 95,96,929 samples as of September 25.
In the past 24 hours, 965 patients recovered from the viral disease totaling the recovery to 15,10,167.
In case of the divisions, Dhaka logged the highest death toll of 11 people while six died of Covid-19 in Chattogram.
