Closure of educational institutions in Bangladesh extended till Jan 30

Bangladesh Desk: The government has again extended the closure of all educational institutions until 30 January, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
However, Qawmi Madrasa will be exempted from this order.
Mohammad Abul Khayer, public relations officer of the Education Ministry in an official notification on Friday confirmed the matter.
The Prime Minister’s Office sought recommendation from the Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Primary and Mass Education over further extending closure of educational institutions.
Later on Thursday morning, the ministries held an online meeting in this regard and decided to extend the shutdown of schools and other educational institutions, considering the current pandemic situation and the opinion of the Ministry of Health.

Meanwhile, the National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) has prepared a syllabus for giving assignments to students.

Earlier on March 16 last year, the government closed all educational institutions to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Bangladesh reported its first coronavirus case on March 8 last year and the first death on March 18 the same year.
