Bomb hoax leads Malaysian Airlines flight’s emergency landing in Dhaka

Online desk: A scheduled flight of Malaysian Airlines made an emergency landing at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Bangladesh capital Dhaka on Wednesday evening as news of having a bomb in the flight spread.

The airport’s executive director Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan said that they searched all the passengers and the aircraft but did not find any bomb or bomb like substance inside the aircraft.

The flight landed at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 9:40pm.

Fire-fighters, members of different law enforcement agencies, and air force were deployed at the HSIA, officials at the airport said.

Uttara division additional deputy commissioner Taposh Kumar Das said that they deployed additional force in the airport area and that security at the airport was also beefed up.

Armed Police Battalion’s additional superintendent Ziaul Haque said that nothing suspicious was found in the flight after checking.

After the checking, officials at the airport said that the activities of the airport became normal and all the passengers of the flight were safe as nothing suspicious was found during their search.
