BGB deployed to maintain law, order in Dhaka, elsewhere

The Border Guard Bangladesh personnel have been deployed in Dhaka, Chattogram, Bogura and Rajshahi amid the quota reform movement across the country.
‘In the wake of the ongoing quota reform movement, the BGB has been deployed in Dhaka, Chattogram, Bogura and Rajshahi to maintain law and order,’ said a press release issued by BGB Public Relations Officer Md Shariful Islam on Tuesday afternoon.
At least four people were killed and scores injured in clashes between quota protestors and the ruling Awami League’s student wing Bangladesh Chhatra League in Dhaka, Chattogram and Rangpur on the day.
Of them, one was killed in Dhaka, two in Chattogram and one was killed in Rangpur, police and officials at hospitals said.
