BCL leader held over raping sixth-grader in Sylhet

Members of Rapid Action Battalion on Saturday arrested a local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League as he allegedly raped a teenager in Dariapara area of Sylhet city.
The arrestee is Ragib Hossain Niju, 20, local Chhatra League leader of Sylhet city unit.
Assistant superintendent of police Samiul Alam of RAB-9 said that Niju violated the girl on September 29 promising to marry her.
The victim’s mother filed a case over the matter on Friday, he said.
The victim had been admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital for medical test.
