Bangladesh reports highest daily 237 dengue cases

Bangladesh desk: The number of daily dengue cases in Bangladesh is on a steady rise with a record 237 new cases detected in the 24-hour period till Sunday morning while the total number of cases has hit 2,895 since January, 2021.
The Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services confirmed the statistics.
Dengue patients have been on the rise since the beginning of July due to monsoon rain.
Among the 237 new dengue cases reported on the day, only 19 were outside the capital city of Dhaka.
According to the daily DGHS report, 862 dengue patients are currently undergoing treatment at different government and private hospitals.
Of the patients, 828 are taking treatment at 41 public and private hospitals in Dhaka and the rest of the 34 at hospitals in other divisions.
A total of 2,029 people have recovered from dengue since January, said the report.
The country logged 2,286 dengue cases in July, 2021, which is eight times higher than the month of June when it stood at 272.
A total of 372 cases were detected from January to June.
