Bangladesh Journalist Mithun Mostafiz made UNJIGO Member
Special Correspondents: Bangladesh Senior Journalist Dr. Mithun Mostafiz enters in to the body of the United Nation Journalists Inter-Governmental Organisation- UNJIGO. Dr. Jasbir Sing, the president of the UNJIGO, on behalf of the executive board on Friday confers Dr. Mostafiz the membership position first ever from Bangladesh.
United Nation based inter- governmental organisation- UNJIGO is relentlessly working for accelerating professional cooperation among journalists across the globe. It encourages impartial treatment of news on public interest and advocates for journalists professional safety and security.
UNJIGO is comprised with the top media professionals from different countries of the world.
Dr. Jasbir Sing, a member of the US President Donald Trump’s Advisory board is the current president of the organisation.
UNJIGO is building awareness against ‘fake news’ flow and ‘rumor’ dilemma in journalism practice. It is disseminating and exchanging knowledge and views pertained to professionally responsible mass communication and campaigning for broader practice of journalistic ethics across the global media sphere. UNJIGO recognises journalists those who bring positive changes to the society through their information service.
Dr. Mostafiz is the first ever journalist from Bangladesh who achieved membership from this globally dignified organisation.
In October this year, Dr. Mostafiz was elected Vice President of the International Consortium for Social Development- ICSD by it’s members across the world. ICSD is the international social development think- tank based in Australia.
Earliar, he was Digital Media Advisor of ICSD. A USA based Noble International University- NIU Visiting Professor Dr. Mithun Mostafiz is also a Member of Amnesty International- a global human rights defender.
Dr. Mithun Mostafiz is the Editor of the daily Bangladesh Shomoy. Prior to this capacity, he was Consultant of News, Assignment Editor and Senior News Host of Boishakhi Television, Bangladesh.
He is the Founder President of News Broadcasters Association of Bangladesh- NBA.
