Bangladesh Journalist Abu Anas dies

Bangladesh Desk:  Award-winning journalist and the economic editor of the Financial Express Abu Anas died Tuesday morning. He was 44.

He died of cardiac arrest at home, confirmed his colleagues to New Age.

Anas was a member of the National Press Club, Dhaka Reporters Unity, and Economic Reporters’ Forum.

Anas, who started his career with the independent in 2002, also wrote for Japanese news outlet Nikkie and United Nations publication The New Humanitarian.

In 2019, he became the Gold winner of the Prince Albert II of Monaco. He also won the prestigious United Nations Correspondent Association Global Prize for coverage of climate change.
