Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council starts sit-in programme

Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council on Saturday holds a sit-in programme in Anderkilla area in Chattogram protesting at the recent attacks on Durga Puja mandaps and Hindus. 

Bangladesh desk: : Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council on Saturday started sit-in programme in Anderkilla area in Chattogram protesting at the recent attacks on Durga Puja mandaps and Hindus.

Several hundreds leaders and activists of the organization, led by its general secretary Rana Dasgupta, started the sit-in from 6:00am.

 

The organisation leaders said that they want arrest of those who were behind the attack and demanded them to brought under trial through special tribunal.

However, they also demanded a protection law and also a ministry regarding the minority communities.

Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council Chattogram city unit president Parimal Kanti Chowdhury, Chattogram district president of Bangladesh Puja Udjapan Parishad Shyamal Kumar Palit, Chattogram city unit president Ashish Kumar Bhattacharjee, Chattogram city corporation councilor Jahar Lal Hazari, Pulok Khastogir and Nilu Nag, among others, were present at the programme.
