Bangladesh elected for UNESCO-2005 body

In the election held on 4th June, 12 out of 24 member states were elected for the next 4 years. Along with Bangladesh, the other committee member states are- France, Norway, Georgia, Serbia, Cuba, Jamaica, Vietnam, Burundi, Madagascar, the United Arab Emirates and Palestine.
Creative economic activities at UNESCO are coordinated through the 2005 convention.
With the introduction of “UNESCO-Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman International Award for Creative Economy”, Bangladesh has appeared as a leader in the global arena in this regard.
For this reason, Bangladesh’s election to the International Committee carries a special significance.
After being elected, Kazi Imtiaz Hossain, Ambassador of Bangladesh to France and Permanent Representative to UNESCO, expressed gratitude to the member states of 2005 convention for giving Bangladesh the opportunity to represent in the international committee, the release said.
