Bangladesh: 30 Covid-19 deaths, 1,970 new cases reported in 24 hours

Online desk; Thirty people have died from Covid-19 in 24 hours (till 8am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With them, the total number of deaths reached 12,869 and death rate stands at 1.58 percent.
At least 1,970 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 8,12,960, added the release.
The current positivity rate is 11.47 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 13.40 percent.
A total of 17,169 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8am today).
At least 1,918 Covid-19 patients have recovered in this period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 7,53,240 and the recovery rate at 92.65 percent.
Among the 30 deceased, 19 were men and 11 women. Of them three were between 31-40 years old, three within 41-50, two between 51-60 and 22 were above 60 years old, added the release.
