Bangladesh: 12 killed as train hits microbus in Ctg

Bangladesh desk: Death toll in train and microbus collision at a level crossing at Mirsharai upazila in Chattogram on Friday has risen to 12.
The accident happened when a speeding train from Dhaka rammed a microbus carrying tourists collided at Mirsharai level crossing.
Witnesses said the accident took place at the level crossing near Baro Takia Railway Station at around 2:00 pm.
They said Chattogram-bound Mahanagar Provati Express rammed the microbus, dragging it up to a kilometer down the railway track.
The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately, said Mirsharai Police Station officer in-charge Kabir Hossain.
He said the train hit the microbus when a group of tourists were returning on the vehicle after visiting Khoiyachara Waterfall, leaving 12 dead on the spot and several others injured.
