Arrest of journalist Rozina may taint Bangladesh’s image abroad: FM

Foreign minister AK Abdul Momen on Thursday said that the arrest of journalist Rozina Islam might tarnish the image of Bangladesh abroad.

Describing the arrest of Rozina, a senior journalist of Bangla daily Prothom Alo, unexpected and regrettable, he said that the foreign ministry would require to face a situation likely to be created abroad on her arrest.

The minister was talking to journalists after an event at a state guest house in Dhaka.

The health ministry should have properly managed the incident involving Rozina Islam, he added.

Rozina was harassed in the health ministry and arrested in a case on charges of lifting of public documents on Tuesday.
