1 killed, 11 injured in vehicle collisions on Dhaka-Mawa expressway

Bangladesh desk:  Multiple-vehicle collisions, caused by dense fog, on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway, on Sunday morning left one person dead and 11 injured.

Police said that the accidents took place at about 7:00am at three locations in Srinagar, Munshiganj.

They said that one bus collided with another bus from behind in Chalitpara area of Srinagar. Just 100 metres away, a private car crashed into the back of another bus.

In Hasara near Nimtala, several rear-end collisions resulted in a truck losing control and hitting a road divider at Shologhar. All of the accidents took place on the highway’s Mawa-bound lane.

Fire service personnel and police promptly arrived at the scenes and took the injured to the hospital.
