Victoria records three new coronavirus cases and zero deaths

The state continues to record low numbers of coronavirus cases, giving residents hope that further restrictions may be eased ahead of schedule.
Three new coronavirus cases have been recorded in Victoria in the past 24 hours, as the rolling number of infections with an unknown source drops to 10.
The 14-day daily case average has also dropped to 6.2 in Melbourne and 0.4 in regional Victoria, health authorities said on Wednesday. No new fatalities were reported, with the state’s death toll remaining at 817. Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews on Tuesday said the state was “well placed” to bring forward the easing of further restrictions planned for 2 November. This would include the reopening of all retail and hospitality businesses in Melbourne. People in Australia must stay at least 1.5 metres away from others.
