NSW goes three weeks with zero local COVID-19 cases, marking 21 consecutive days

NSW has recorded another day of zero locally acquired coronavirus cases, marking three weeks since an infection was found in the community.
One new infection has been detected within the state’s hotel quarantine program.
However, testing numbers were down on the previous day’s figures with 9,248 tests conducted compared to Friday’s 12,521.
It comes as NSW Health further ramps up its hotel quarantine protocols following a number of outbreaks from within the quarantine system interstate.
From now on, returned travellers who have completed 14-day quarantines will be tested again two days after their release, on day 16.
“This is in addition to the current testing on days 2 and 12 for all returned travellers while in hotel quarantine,” NSW Health said on Twitter.
NSW authorities are continuing to screen visitors entering from Victoria, with anyone who enters NSW from Victoria by air or rail required to complete a passenger declaration form.
