Coronavirus Victoria: Young people infected with COVID-19 fight for life in hospitals

Alarming new figures show 10 Victorians aged in their 20s are battling coronavirus in hospital, three of which are fighting for life in intensive care.
According to the health data released today, two people aged under 20 were also in hospital with COVID-19, as well as one child aged under 10, in a harsh reminder COVID-19 is “not an older person’s disease”.
It comes after a newborn baby was diagnosed with COVID-19 at the Royal Children’s Hospital NICU ward this week.
There are 266 Victorians in hospital and 41 people in intensive care across the state. The majority of patients in ICU were individuals aged in their 60s and 50s.
