Australian man falls to his death from Bali hotel room

An Australian tourist has died after falling from a fourth-floor balcony from a hotel in Bali.
Security at The Haven hotel in Seminyak reported they heard a commotion before a 46-year-old New South Wales man fell from the room to his death yesterday evening.
A spokesperson from the Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed the death in a statement to Nine news.

“Consular officials from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade are providing assistance to the family of an Australian who died in tragic circumstances in Bali,” the spokesperson said.
The Bali Sun published photos of the room completely trashed, with furniture upturned and clothes and pillows scattered across the floor.
Police in Kuta are now looking for information about the man’s movements before his death.

The man is believed to have been staying at the hotel alone. Police have not said whether there was anyone else in the room at the time of his death.
The police report said CCTV showed the man entering the hotel room alone.
The Haven bills itself as a “naturally elegant” hotel with suites and villas.
