Dragons hand Melbourne Storm 30-22 NRL loss, Warriors end Australian stay with win over Manly Posted 3hhours ago, updated 57mminutes ago

Key points:
- The Storm were without a number of their first-choice players against the Dragons
- Tyson Frizell scored two tries in his final match for the Dragons
- The Warriors beat Manly 40-28 to end their lengthy stay in Australia
The result does not affect the Storm’s standing on the ladder, as they had already locked up second place behind Penrith, and they will next meet Parramatta in the first week of the finals.
The Dragons’ win marked the end of Tyson Frizell’s St George Illawarra career, with the New South Wales State of Origin representative scoring two tries ahead of his move to Newcastle.
With 12 of their main players still back in their Sunshine Coast camp ahead of next week’s finals, the Storm led 16-6 before letting the match slip in the second half.
Both sides scored five tries, but the Storm were left to rue four missed conversions from stand-in skipper Ryan Papenhuyzen who was otherwise their best.
There are several concerns for the Storm before the finals.
Max King was placed on report for a hip-drop tackle on Blake Lawrie, while Tui Kamikamica could also be under the microscope for a first-half shoulder charge on Jayden Sullivan.
Making matters worse, Kamikamica finished the match off the field with an ankle injury.
Both players will now face a nervous wait ahead of Saturday’s qualifying final against the Eels at Brisbane’s Lang Park.
