Bangladesh batting first against Pakistan

Sports desk:  Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joty won the toss and elected to bat first against Pakistan. This marks the fourth time in five qualifier matches that Bangladesh is batting first.

In a crucial match of Women’s World Cup Qualifiers, Bangladesh women’s cricket team has taken the field today to secure a spot in the main round of the tournament.

Bangladesh has made one change in the playing XI for today’s match against Pakistan. Out-of-form Subhana Mostary has been dropped and wicketkeeper-batter Dilara Akter has been included. The rest of the players remain unchanged from the previous match against the West Indies.

Pakistan has already won all four of their previous matches in the qualifiers, ensuring their spot in the World Cup. However, today’s match is a do-or-die situation for Bangladesh.

A win today would secure Bangladesh a direct entry into the main tournament. But if they lose, they will have to rely on the result of the West Indies vs Thailand match.

In such a scenario, Joty and her team not only need to win but also hope that the Caribbean team either loses or if they win, doesn’t do so by a big margin.

Bangladesh Playing XI: Dilara Akter, Fargana Hoque Pinky, Sharmin Akter Supta, Nigar Sultana Joty (captain), Swarna Akter, Ritu Moni, Fahima Khatun, Jannatul Ferdous Sumona, Nahida Akter, Rabeya Khan and Marufa Akter.

Pakistan Playing XI: Shawal Zulfiqar, Muneeba Ali, Sidra Ameen, Aliya Riaz, Natalia Parvaiz, Fatima Sana (captain), Sidra Nawaz, Rameen Shamim, Diana Baig, Sadia Iqbal and Nashra Sandhu.
