Model Mariam Akhter Mou on 2-day fresh remand

Bangladesh  desk: A Dhaka court today placed model Mariam Akhter Mou on a two-day fresh remand in the third phase in a case filed against her with Mohammadpur Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act.

Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sufiyan Md Noman passed the order after Inspector of Criminal Investigation Department Probir Kumar Ghosh, also the investigation officer of the case, produced her before the court seeking a four-day remand prayer.

In the remand prayer, the IOs said Mou gave important information about the recovery of narcotics which was being verified. So, she needs to be remanded for more information about the incidents, the IOs said.

Defence of Mou also submitted a petition seeking her bail and cancellation of remand, saying their client was implicated in the case as part of a conspiracy to harass her.

They also seized 750 yaba pills and 12 bottles of foreign liquor from Mou’s residence.
