BD actor Abdul Kader shifted to ICU

Actor Abdul Kader, who is undergoing treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital, has been shifted to the Intensive Care Unit on Thursday night.

Kader is suffering from pancreatic cancer. He tested positive for COVID-19 on December 21.

His daughter-in-law Jahida Islam Jamy confirmed it.

‘He was shifted to the ICU at 11:00pm on Thursday. He is experiencing breathing difficulty and has been put on oxygen support. His health condition is critical. We urge all to pray for him,’ said Jahida Islam Jamy.

Abdul Kader went to Chennai in India on December 8 for better treatment after a tumour was detected in his body. He received treatment at Christian Medical

Hospital there and was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, which has spread to other parts of his body.

Abdul Kader received a huge response playing the role of Bodi in Humayun Ahmed’s drama series Kothao Keu Nei in the ‘90s. He acted in films namely Wrong Number, Bhalobasha Jindabad and others.
