Bangladesh: Body of Ctg journalist found hanging at office

Police recovered the body of a local journalist from his office in Mirsarai upazila of Chattogram last night.

Sujan Mandal (35), son of Nirod Baran Mandol, was Mirsarai upazila correspondent of the Bangla daily Ittefaq, said Mujibur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Mirsarai Police Station.

OC Mujibur told our Chattogram staff correspondent that he went to Sujan’s office around 9:30pm and recovered the body — found hanging from the ceiling — after breaking the door which was locked from inside.

The body was sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital for autopsy, he said.

The OC also said as Sujan was not responding to repeated knocks at the door — by his friend and family members — since yesterday afternoon they called police.
