CID wants model Piasha on 10 days’ remand

Bangladesh desk: Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police on Wednesday appealed to a Dhaka court for taking model Faria Mahabub Piasha on 10 days of remand in two drug cases.
Earlier, police produced Piasha before a metropolitan magistrate court on completion of her three-day remand period in a case filed with Bhatara Police Station in Dhaka.
Later, the CID filed a petition to take her on s five-day remand in two cases each.
The remand hearing will be held at the court of Metropolitan Magistrate Baki Billah at 3pm.
On August 1, the Detective Branch (DB) of police detained model Faria Mahabub Piasha from her Baridhara residence on charge of blackmailing people.
Huge liquor, Yaba tablets and shisha (flavoured tobacco) were also recovered from the house during the raid.
Later, another model Mariam Akhter Mou was arrested from her Mohamadpur residence at the same night.
