Shameem Ahsan appointed as Bangladesh ambassador to Italy

Bangladesh Desk: The government has appointed high commissioner of Bangladesh to Nigeria Md Shameem Ahsan as the next ambassador of Bangladesh to Italy.
Prior to his present assignment, he served as Bangladesh consul general in New York, said a press release.
In his diplomatic career, he worked in various capacities in Bangladesh Missions in Kuwait, Doha, Nairobi, Rome, and Washington DC.
During the diplomatic career course, he attended a number of summits, international conferences, and meetings and seminars across the globe.
Shameem completed National Defence Course on security, strategic and development issues from the National Defence College in Dhaka.
He wrote two books on international relations as well as published several articles on different issues, including role of Bengali diplomats during the War of Independence, diplomatic immunity and privileges, country branding, environmental issues, economic relations, regionalism, South Asia, Middle East and North Africa, and on literary issues.
