Sheikh Mujib was the father of fascism in Bangladesh: Mirza Fakhrul

Bangladesh desk: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said Awami League has never been a democratic political party. It was a fascist party. Sheikh Mujib gave birth to fascism from 1972 to 1975. Sheikh Mujib was the father of fascism in Bangladesh.
He was addressing the inaugural session of the biennial conference of Chuadanga District BNP at Chuadanga town football field on Saturday morning.
The BNP Secretary General alleged that the Awami League and Jubo League leaders and workers had killed BNP leaders and workers either through hacking or shooting.
“They (Awami League government) killed BNP activists using the police randomly. Thousands of BNP leaders and workers were sued in false and fabricated criminal cases. The way the police was used is unimaginable in a democratic state,” he said.
According to the BNP Secretary General, the deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina and Awami League leaders fled the country in face of public wrath. So, it is now a blessing for Bangladesh that the country has come out of this curse.
BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman addressed the conference joining virtually from London as the chief guest.
District BNP convener Mahmud Hasan Khan presided over the function while District BNP member secretary Sharifuzzaman Sharif moderated it.
BNP Vice-Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu, Nitai Roy Chowdhury, organizing secretary Aninda Islam Amit, assistant organizing secretary Jayanta Kuman Kundu, National Executive Committee member Azizul Bari Helal, District BNP member secretary Sharifuzzaman Sharif, Meherpur District BNP president Masud Arun and general secretary Amzad Hossain, Kushtia District BNP president Syed Mehedi Ahmed, among others, addressed the event.
