Samrat’s charge framing hearing Nov 30

Bangladesh Desk: A court in Dhaka on Tuesday fixed November 30 for hearing on charge framing against expelled Jubo League leader Ismail Hossain Samrat in two cases.

Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge KM Imrul Kayesh set the date taking the case into cognisance.

The cases are arms and drug. Samrat sough bail in the two cases. After today’s hearing, he was again returned to Keraniganj Central Jail.

Meanwhile, huge number of his party leaders and activists with playcards gathered in front of the court premises this morning chanting slogans for Samrat’s unconditional release.

They, later, also took position on the road on Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court premises.

Samrat, the former president of Dhaka South Jubo League, came under the spotlight last year when Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) busted illegal gambling businesses at several sports clubs in Dhaka.

He was arrested from Cumilla’s Chauddagram upazila on October 6, 2019.
