He told BBC Bangla that he is being treated in the hospital due to physical abuse.
He said, “Due to the injury, my two shoulders and left leg have blood clots. I was tortured not only physically but also mentally”.
“Perhaps I was removed because I could not lead or guide the movement,” said Mr. Islam
When BBC Bangla contacted the police about Nahid Islam’s complaint, they said that Mr. Islam does not know anything about detention or release.
He spoke to BBC Bangla about the response to the High Court’s verdict on quotas, coordination between the anti-discrimination student movement and future programs. Islam

Allegation of torture by blindfolded
His father, Badrul Islam, complained to BBC Bengal on Saturday that Nahid Islam, one of the coordinators of the quota reform movement, was taken away from a friend’s house in Nandipara at midnight on Friday, July 20.

“At that time I was blindfolded with three to four layers of cloth and handcuffed. After some time I was taken out of the car and taken to a room in a house. I was interrogated and then subjected to mental and physical torture,” said Mr. . Islam
“At one point I fainted. After that I have no memory,” he said.
Nahid Islam said, “I regained consciousness at Purbachal area around four to five in the morning on Sunday. Later, when the light came on, I walked some distance and came home with a CNG”.
He was admitted to a hospital for treatment at 12 noon on Sunday. Nahid Islam told the BBC that his two shoulders and left leg had blood clots due to the injury.
