Law to follow own path, Anisul Huq says about Khaleda’s treatment

Law minister Anisul Huq.
Law minister Anisul Huq on Friday said that the law would follow its own path and it would not change its rule to keep pace with Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s demand.
The minister made the statement while talking about BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia’s treatment abroad at a blanket distribution program at Akhaura in Brahmanbaria.
He said that humanity could not be realised through movement.
Anisul Huq also said that Khaleda Zia’s sentence had been suspended and the former prime minister was released on humanitarian grounds by an executive order of the prime minister.
‘We never said that that she can’t go to hospital or take treatment inside the country. She has gone to hospital three times so far. Now BNP wants to take her abroad for treatment.’
Anisul Huq said that on August 15 in 1975, Bangladesh’s founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and 17 members of his family were killed.
‘Still Khaleda Zia celebrates her fake birthday on that day every year,’ he added.
Poura Awami League arranged the program.
Among others, law secretary Golam Sarwar, deputy commissioner of Brahmanbaria Hayat Ud Duwla Khan, police super Anisur Rahman, Upazila Awami League convenor Md Joynal Abedin, Poura mayor Takjil Khalif Kajol, and Akhaura UNO Rumana Akter were present at the programme.
