Journalist receives bullet injuries in Noakhali clash dies in Dhaka

 

Bangladesh Desk: A Bangladeshi  local journalist who received bullet injuries during a clash between two rival groups at Basurhat in Companyganj in Noakhali district on Friday died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) while underwent treatment there.

Borhanuddin Mozakker succumbed to his bullet injuries at about 10:45pm on Saturday, his elder brother Fakhruddin confirmed it.

Journalist Borhanuddin was the correspondent of Dainik Bangla Samachar and Barta Bazar Online News Portals. He completed his Master’s degree from Noakhali University. Mozakker was the son of Noab Ali of Char Pokira union under Companyganj upazila.

Gunshots were traded during a clash between the followers of Basurhat Pourasava mayor Abdul Quader Mirza and the followers of Upazila Awami League organising secretary Mizanur Rahman Badal at Chaprashirhat Purbo Bazar in Companyganj on Friday afternoon. At that time, seven people including Mozakker received multiple bullet injuries. Mozakker was rushed to Noakhali General Hospital. As his condition worsened there, he was shifted to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment. He had been undergoing treatment at the ICU of the DMCH.

Noakhali police super Md Alamgir Hossain said he received the news of bullet-ridden journalist’s death. “We are trying to contact with his family members,” he said.
