Journalist Ovisruti dies in Bailey Road fire

Multimedia news portal TheReport.live’s former journalist Ovisruti Shastri died in devastating  Bailey Road restaurant fire.

She died at Green Cozy Cottage on Bailey Road in the capital on Friday night after being trapped in the inferno.

Her body has been kept at the morgue of Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute in the capital.

The body of Ovisruti was identified by The Report’s chief reporter Golam Rabbani on Friday (March 1).

He said, “Ovisruti left her job in January last. We have learned in the morning that Ovisruti went missing. Then we found her at the morgue of Burn Institute. We are trying to contact with her family.”

Tushar Howladar, another former employee of The Report.live, was with Ovisruti at that time. He also died in the fire incident.

It is learnt that Ovisruti used to work at Election Commission bit. She hailed from Kushtia district. She appeared at Honours final examination from Eden Women’s College some days ago and lived at a mess opposite to the CID office at Mouchak in Dhaka.

Meanwhile, the Reporters Forum for Election and Democracy (RFED) has expressed deep shock and grief at the death of Ovisruti.
