Jashore journalist Aslam dies of COVID- 19

Aslam Hossain, editor of Jashore-based local daily Dainik Nawapara and also president of Nawapara Press Club, died of COVID-19 at Lab Aid Hospital in Dhaka at about 4:30am on Sunday, said journalist Faruk Hossain. He was 60.

He was buried at his family graveyard at village Shankarpasha of Abhaynagar upazila in Jashore Sunday night.

He had been suffering from COVID-19 for about a month.

He is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.

Aslam Hossain was the founder-editor of Dainik Nawapara and served as president of Nawapara Press Club for several years. He was also president of Nawapara Model Secondary School.

His brother and journalist Belal Hossain and uncle Amir Hossain had also died of COVID-19 earlier
