HSC, equivalent examinations cancelled in Bangladesh

The government on Wednesday decided to cancel the Higher Secondary Certificate and equivalent examinations for the COVID 19 outbreak.

In an online briefing, education minister Dipu Moni said that the candidates would be evaluated based on their Secondary School Certificate and equivalent exams and Junior School Certificate examination results by December.

A technical committee will be formed to set the percentage of marks from SSC and JSC while evaluating the results, she said.

The committee will also decide what will happen to the students who changed their groups after passing the SSC exams.

The committee will report by November, she said.   The government had earlier cancelled JSC and primary education completion examinations for the COVID-19 outbreak.
