Four candidates including existing MP in Sylhet-2 seat boycott polls

Bangladesh desk: Four candidates including the existing member of parliament and Ganaforum candidate Mokabbir Khan Chowdhury from Sylhet-2 (Biswanath-Osmani Nagar) constituency announced boycotting election in the 12th parliamentary election citing various allegations.
They made the announcement at a press conference at Biswanath Bazar on Sunday afternoon.

In this constituency, Shafiqur Rahman Chowdhury is the contender with Boat symbol.

The candidates who announced boycotting election in the seat are Jatiya Party’s Plough symbol candidate Yahia Chowdhury, Ganaforum’s candidate and present MP Mokabbir Khan, independent candidate and Biswanath Municipality mayor Muhibur Rahman and Trinamul BNP’s Abdur Rab Mallick.

At the press conference, Yahia Chowdhury told newsmen that fake votes were being cast ousting the political party agents from the centre. No favourable situation is persists to cast ballots in the election.
